The Meteorological Department of Pakistan has issued a cyclone alert in Karachi. The city is expected to be hit by a cyclone in the next 36 hours as a low-pressure area of the East Arabian Sea has braced into depression as per the PMD.
The tropical cyclone warning centre of Pakistan Meteorological Department stated that the wind pressure has been formed at a distance of about 1500 kilometers south of Karachi city.
After it turns into a storm, it will gradually be targeting towards the north. PMD also expects that winds will come to a standstill before taking the form of cyclone into the Arabian Sea.
The Met department further cleared that at the moment, coastal areas of Pakistan are facing any sort of threat. However, the fishermen of Sindh have still been advised to stay away from the deeper side of the sea and remain aware.
A tropical cyclone ‘Lauban’ was expected to hit Karachi with other coastal areas of the country last year in the month of October. The winds were then directed towards Oman.Share On
